Sam has been throwing temper tantrums a lot lately.  The temper tantrums starting happening shortly after he turned one.  If he didn't get something he wanted or if I picked him up and took him away from a situation I didn't want him to be in he would arch his back and scream his defiance.  It was something I took in stride; all a part of growing.  However, they are increasing in frequency.  He is more frequently getting into situations that he shouldn't be in and I am more frequently taking him out of them, hence more tantrums.  The mobility of walking has made this problem worse twenty-fold.  I love that he can walk now--it makes a lot of things easier, but it does increase the temper tantrums.  For instance, I am at the store and he doesn't want to ride in the cart the whole time.  Fair enough, I let him down to walk.  However, instead of following me where I need to go, he immediately walks in the other direction.  I'm honestly trying to set boundaries and discipline, but I think there's only so much you can do with a kid his age.  Sigh.  In reality, it's not that bad; just kind of annoying.

One thing that is starting to worry me is that he doesn't seem to be eating a lot lately.  I know that if he gets hungry he'll eat, but the pressure to eat is so much great for an under-weight kid, I don't think parents of normal sized kids can quite relate.  I hope he gets over it soon.
